BACKGROUND
Sagittea Development Consultants is a joint venture set up by three Italian firms: CSIL (Milan), Resco (Ancona and Florence), and TRT (Milan). Sagittea operates as a network of experts, which includes the founding partners as well as associates. Every professional in the team has passed a rigorous selection process and is involved in teamwork, sharing of know-how and tasks. The group’s professional background encompasses a wide range of experiences at different levels: on the one hand, senior experts with top level management experience in international organisations and universities, and on the other, junior experts boasting an excellent academic background as well as a minimum of experience with projects.
VISION
There are a number of reasons why the Italian experience may represent an added value leading to successful development policies and projects:
CORE VALUES
Sagittea experts have a thorough understanding of the Italian experience in planning and evaluating development policies, and considerable experience gained through longstanding collaboration with the European Commission and other international organizations. They consider such experience a resource to be shared with their partners and clients, with the aim of originally contributing to a historical opportunity for sustainable development and the socio-economic cohesion of several countries and regions.
The three key principles underlying Sagittea’s services are:

|
The EU enlargement process involving 13 candidate countries (with 10 countries having joined on May 1st 2004) and the growing role of the EU in global development cooperation makes international knowledge transfer crucial to these areas, in order to consolidate best practices from different countries.
In this context Sagittea offers its partners and clients the specific experience developed in Italy in the field of development planning and evaluation, in the belief that the
Italian case-study is particularly relevant to new EU member countries, candidate countries, and many others.
